It started with a very muddy golden retriever
If you've ever driven home from the beach with a wet dog, you know the drill. Sand in the seams, hair in every corner, and paw prints on the back of your seats that never quite come out.
That was us every weekend with Sushi and Soy. We tried towels, old blankets and a couple of cheap hammock covers. The towels slid off. The hammocks sagged into the footwell, so the dogs slipped around on every corner and never really settled. One of them lasted about three trips before Sushi's claws went straight through it.
We didn't want to leave the dogs at home. So we set out to fix the back seat instead.
We wanted something tough enough for Sushi's mud and comfy enough for Soy's naps. It needed a hard, flat base that wouldn't sag, fabric that wiped clean, a mesh barrier so they couldn't climb into the front, and a price that didn't feel ridiculous.
The Top Dog was born, and Ruff Roads Supply launched in 2023.
